Choc coated Strawberries

These always feature on my fruit platters. Not only are they visually appealing, they’re a crowd favourite every time.

Just make sure you make more than you need… I can guarantee that some won’t make it onto the platter because you won’t want to wait that long!

Ingredients

  • 500g strawberries

  • 200g Lindt 70% smooth blend dark chocolate

  • 50g Sweet William white chocolate

Method

  1. Wash the strawberries and dry them on a clean tea towel.

  2. Break the dark chocolate into small chunks and put them into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 60 seconds on high, stir and then microwave for additional 30 second intervals until melted, stirring in between.

  3. Pick up a strawberry by firmly gripping the leaves and then dip 3/4 of the strawberry into the dark chocolate (see video above). Place onto a plate lined with baking paper and repeat until you have coated all of the strawberries. Place them into the fridge for 5 minutes to set.

  4. Meanwhile, break the white chocolate in small chunks and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until melted, then pour the white chocolate into a small snaplock bag. Push the chocolate down into one corner, twist the top of the bag so no chocolate can escape back out the top and snip a small hole in the corner of the bag.

  5. Remove the strawberries from the fridge and drizzle the white chocolate over each one in a zigzag pattern. Refrigerate for another 5 mins, or until set.
